Arrived in the Marquesas…

October 1, 2022 Off By F6BCW-Didier

After 2 days late I arrived in the Marquesas…
Since this morning, no more flights in French Polynesia because of a strike by airport firefighters.
WX: clear, not too hot, night at 23°C day 28°, very pleasant moderate trade wind.

I was cutting 8m bamboo to support the Levy and the LPDA.
Our QSO low bands (30/80m) are made with the special Levy of 2x26m omnidirectional stretched on the side of the hill.
Our QSO high bands (20/10m) are done with the LPDA 14el wired direction SP.
Sunday, QRV with the Spiderbeam (20m to 10m) orientable LP or SP.

For stations without an amp, especially call me above the pack that I hear you,
if you call in the big pile up, it is impossible to decode you.
The propagation will improve until around October 5th, enjoy.

900 QSOs yesterday with FO/F6BCW CW only, the propagation was not good enough to pile-up in SSB.
